6,000 miles from home
“It feels strange being here. Like it was a place that only existed in my dreams. Now I’m here, and I look out my window, and I see it with waking eyes. My brain is still trying to understand. I’ve never been this far from home before, and I can feel it in my bones. I’m not afraid. No, that is not what I feel. But I’m acutely aware of the distance, every mile, down into my core.”

Massive, brimming and overflowing with people. Trains filled to the brim with commuters who’ve been on their feet for an hour, one their way to work until dark, and then back home to repeat it all again. And between the madness, pockets of quiet.

I stayed in Saito City, which is just east of main Tokyo, under the shadow of the Skytree. Cute area with little to nothing going on except for the towering monster in the middle of it.
